Job Description
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technician will be responsible for implementation for the approved RE and Springshed Infrastructure activities, provide technical support to municipalities, and facilitate communities in managing the Springsheds. His/her specific responsibilities include but not limited to the following activities:
Facilitate identification of productive RE technologies/tools to promote them at Springsheds,
Prepare designs and implement construction works at springshed sites in consultation with Project coordinator and ICIMOD experts,
Facilitate installation of RE solutions to promote irrigation and drinking water supply systems, • Support in mobilizing communities for installation of RE solutions at Springshed sites to promote irrigation or drinking water supply,
Facilitate installation of weather station at Springshed sites in collaboration with ICIMOD experts and facilitate in recording water discharge at regular interval,
Support in organization and facilitation of cross learning visits by Municipality and communities at Springshed sites,
Work in close coordination with the municipalities in identifying potential springhead implementation sites to scale up the project activities,
Support the municipalities in the planning process for integration springsheds related activities in their annual plans for upscaling,
Carry out any other related tasks as directed by Project coordinator.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualification and experience:
Diploma or Certificate or overseer or equivalent level in RE or civil works from recognized institution,
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in civil works designing and implementation. Experience and knowledge in installation of RE for irrigation, drinking water and other productive use will be an advantage,
Demonstrated working experience with the government agencies at local levels, Local NGOs, CBOs and private sector and other relevant stakeholders,
Experience in community mobilization, capacity building of the groups, linkage/networking for sustainability,
Experience in conducting/facilitating trainings for the farmer groups, group leaders and Municipal officials,
Experience in monitoring the activities and progress against project targets,
Collaborative, flexible and solution-oriented,
Ability to work under cross cultural environment,
Strong team coordination, listening and consensus building skills.
