Job Description

Qualification, Experiences and Skills
A successful candidate will possess the following qualification and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Master in Horticulture will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in management and field implementation of agricultural project in hill districts of Nepal,
  • Work experience under I/NGOs will be preferred.
  • Substantial experience in networking and coordination with government agencies, private sector and civil society organizations at different levels
  • Experience in Facilitating establishment of community seed bank, nursery, promotion and marketing of high value local vegetables and other crop varieties
  • Ability to take responsibility, meet deadlines and make progress with minimum supervision
  • Capacity and willingness to learn new skills, research methods and work routines under the mentorship of project manager
  • Experience in implementation of activities related to climate change adaptation, food and nutrition security, livelihood enhancement, will be an advantage
  • Self-motivated with time and stress management skills and ability to work independently
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and internet browsing.
  • Good oral and written communications in English and Nepali
  • Ability to facilitate / organize training, workshop and seminar at local and district level
  • Knowledge and skills to use participatory tools and methods in planning and monitoring
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willing to travel extensively to the project implemented sites to conduct trainings, monitoring and evaluation, and other field research and able to live and work in marginal field conditions
  • Must have valid driving license of the motorbike
  • Should be a Nepali citizen.
