Flash Freight Logistics Pvt. Ltd, founded in Nepal is one of the top international Freight Forwarding company. We are exclusive partner of German multinational organization, DB Schenker for Nepal and have been providing high class, customer-friendly services in the field of global freight forwarding, custom clearance and shipping from/to Nepal to anywhere in the world working in close liaison with various transport service providers like shipping, air cargo, road cargo, trade bodies, export promotion councils and other nodal agencies.

Key Position Information

Position Title: Human Resource Manager

Position Reports To: General Manager

Position Location: HQ, Lalitpur, Nepal

Position Purpose/Job Summary

To provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of holistic, practical and progressive HR strategies for supporting to achieve Flash Freight Mission and business goal with the end in view of creating change-ready organization that undertakes continuous improvement of the quality and effectiveness of its people management strategies.  The role includes ensuring its alignment to, and support of, the work of the Flash Freight’s business initiatives. 

The position also responsible for overall management of administration & logistics management in order to achieve the organizational business goal.

Decision Making Authority: Decisions with the direction and approval of the General Manager-

Networking, Coordination & Relationship

  • Internal: MD, GM, AMs, Supervisors, Staff Members
  • External: Insurance Company, Lawyers, HR & Admin Support Providers i.e. ICT, Training Providers, Logistics and Maintenance Service Providers, Security

Key Objectives of the Position:

  1. To ensure effective acquisition, development and retention of highly competent, highly motivated and organizational mission –driven employees.
  2. To develop performance management system, align with Flash Freight business goal and facilitate to implement it.
  3. To provide the organization sustainable leadership through effective leadership succession, career management, talent pool and staff career development programs and policies.
  4. To design & facilitate relevant training programmes to enhance knowledge, skills and behaviours of employees
  5. To coach & guide to managers to enhance their capability in people management and career planning
  6. To ensure effective and efficient resource management and coordinate administrative functions of Flash Freight.

The position is accountable for the following:

Responsibilities

Indicators / Focal Areas

Support Management Team to deliver strategic objectives & business goal

  • Partner with the MD,,GM, Directors, Managers, AMs, Supervisors to ensure people-related initiatives aligned to Flash Freight’s strategy, projects and plans  are delivered on time and in full.
  • Lead major change management programs across the organisation and coach directors, managers in managing change programs using change management methodologies.
  • Manage strategic HR functions for Flash Freight including workforce planning, employee engagement, remuneration and benefits, leadership development, talent identification and succession planning.  

HR & Admin Team Management

  • Develop and deliver annual strategic plan for HR function.
  • Ensure HR activities align to Flash Freight strategic objectives and business plan
  • Provide functional HR leadership and to ensure people practises are fit for purpose in accordance with the needs of the organisation – for example, employee relations, performance management, recruitment and staff care.
  • Ensure the alignment of Flash Freight Logistics Employee policies are in line with Nepal Labour Law
  •  Ensure effective and efficient resource management and coordinate administrative functions in the organization
  • Coordinate and guide support staff to make clean & friendly office environment
  •  Supervise and train Admin staff (Receptionists, Office Assistants/Helper) in setting up admin systems and process ie. Attendance tracking, office security, dealing with visitors, logistics arrangement, coordinating with external service providers (IT, etc.) 

Strategic Partnering & Employee Relations

  • Regular 1 on 1 meetings with Directors, Managers and Key Staff members and identify major concerns related to HR
  • HR systems, processes and policies are embedded and used appropriately in all departments.
  • Participation in the implementation of departmental strategies and business plans/workforce plan.
  • Work with the relevant Directors, Managers, Supervisors to ensure reporting relationships, organisational structure, values and cultural norms of relevant client departments are aligned to organisational policies, values & best practise.
  • Management of employee relations issues within client groups
  • Conduct exit interviews as required for outgoing staff and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.

Person Specification

Education

A Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or Organisational Development or similar discipline

Master’s Degree with HR Specialization
