Job Description

Communications Associate is the primary lead in building awareness around the work of United World Schools Nepal (UWS). A major responsibility of the Communications Associate will be to build a brand identity of UWS projects within the community and beyond. The Communications Associate will work with the Education Director, Fellowship Coordinator and Fellows to capture impact stories and strengthen UWS's brand identity through different platforms. Last but not the least, the individual will drive on the ground execution of communication pieces during various events. 

 

  • Develop and implement communications strategic plan to create and strengthen UWS Nepal’s brand identity 

  • Work with the Education Director, Fellowship Coordinator and UWS Fellows to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and execute appropriate strategies to support them

  • Conceptualize innovative ways to tell the story of our current Fellows and Alumni through different mediums (photos, videos, case studies, etc.)

  • Create/edit content for communications mediums such as website, e-newsletter, social media, press releases, and periodic reports

  • Create impact reports for UWS’s projects to report impact of the projects to internal and external stakeholders such as senior management team, donors, etc. 

  • Cultivate and manage strong relations with the media and press

  • Work with UWS Fellows to create content and publish regularly on internet and print mediums

  • Provide support and feedback to the Fellows and staff on their written communications

  • For all marketing and communications activities create and track tangible measures of success 

  • Assist with planning departmental annual events including press meet, recruitment, orientation, training, retreats, as well as various meetings and program-related events

  • Increase the organization’s profile across media, and with influencers and organizations

  • Draft, edit and distribute materials for the press, for stakeholders and for ecumenical partners

  • Develop, manage, update, write and coordinate content for the website

  • Maintain social media accounts

  • Support the implementation of a social media strategy

  • Provide creative, editorial and operational support for communications projects

  • Report on and analyze all aspects of communications

  • Any other responsibilities as requested by the education director
