Location: In-office (Codewing, Chandol, Kathmandu)

Position Open: 1

Salary: No upper limit for exceptional candidates who demonstrate strong expertise and ownership.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Own the technical vision and direction for Tripcart
  • Lead and grow the engineering team (hiring, mentoring, setting standards)
  • Define and evolve the software architecture to scale with customer growth
  • Drive engineering excellence, security, scalability, and system reliability
  • Review code, guide implementation, and remove technical bottlenecks
  • Collaborate closely with the Product and Business teams
  • Make strategic decisions about tech stack, infrastructure, and technical debt
  • Champion best practices in DevOps, testing, documentation, and performance
  • Stay hands-on and contribute to codebase as needed
  • Represent engineering in leadership meetings and planning

Job Specification

Experience

  • 8+ years in software development with significant SaaS experience
  • Proven experience scaling software systems and managing teams
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Experience in early-stage product scaling or startup environments

Technical Leadership

  • Strong architectural thinking (monolith to microservices, scalability patterns)
  • Able to balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability
  • Strategic thinker who can also execute

Tech Stack Familiarity

  • Deep experience with Laravel, Vue.js, MySQL/PostgreSQL or other languages
  • Hands-on knowledge of Docker, AWS, CI/CD, Git workflows
  • Bonus: Kubernetes, Redis, event-driven systems, AI-assisted development workflows
