Job Description

Position: Team Leader
Job location: Kathmandu, Nepal
Salary: Competitive salary
Contract duration: One-year fixed term contract, renewable
Full Time, 40 hours per week

Major responsibility

The role of the Team Leader is to lead the large-scale multi-year project focus on social and political
change processes in Nepal. The Team Leader ensures that the project team functions synergistically to
meet project and organisational objectives. He or she works with the team, partners, and donors to plan
and coordinate all aspects of delivery at strategic, project and activity levels. Her/his primary responsibility
is to ensure that activities are delivered timely and to the highest quality.

Skills, Qualification, and experience required

  • Master or equivalent degree in law, political science, conflict, and peace or in relevant subject with at least ten years of experience of managing large scale of multi years projects.
  • Experience of working with multiple donors and partners and managing projects related to peacebuilding, rule of law, human rights, parliament oversight and advocacy.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial operation and project management.
  • Knowledge of peacebuilding theory and practice, and a willingness to learn about social, political, security, economy, and gender dimensions.
  • Understanding of the current socio-economic, security and political context of Nepal.
  • Sound understanding of Gender and Social Inclusion issues.
  • Skills to clearly communicate complex issues relating to conflict to a range of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in collaboration with individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Fluency in Nepali and English.
