Job Description

RTI seeks a Team Leader for an anticipated DFID-funded programme to improve social accountability in the health sector, as well as overall accountability for local service delivery in Nepal. The Team Leader will provide programme leadership and oversight, and serve as the day-to-day in-country point of contact for DFID. The Team Leader will be responsible for generating timely and high-quality analyses and mapping of GON and NGO/INGO social accountability initiatives relative to the health sector; recommending ways to improve coherence and dialog on social and political accountability among key stakeholders and advising on steps to improve civil society skills in tracking the flow of government health spending accessing/using health information. Candidates should have significant experience and expertise in Nepal's health sector; sophisticated understanding of local governance structures, including accountability mechanisms; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and fluency in English.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in public health, health management, public administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in management of international donor funded health projects, with substantial knowledge and experience related to health sector decentralization in Nepal.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively ability to interact effectively at all health sector levels
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a reputation for strong personnel and programme management.
