Job Description
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree or higher in international development, education, gender and inclusion, sociology, or related field
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in social inclusion programming, such as youth and children’s early education, disability inclusion, gender equality, inclusion of persons with financial barriers, and inclusion of minority populations.
Understanding of how to address different dimensions of gender and social exclusion at different levels of the socio-ecological framework.
Experience in inclusive programming related to basic education and pre-primary education systems, access to education, formal and informal educational programming, community development, and/or systems strengthening preferred.
Experience with community mobilization and empowerment of socially excluded caregivers, families and communities.
Strong understanding of issues faced by marginalized caregivers, communities and populations in Nepal related to family wellbeing, education access and educational achievements and the education system.
Able to gain support from staff across teams and to build the capacity of others.
Sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to think creatively and innovate and to set priorities, manageable work plans and evaluate progress.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations; and
Fluent oral and strong analytical, written English communications skills is required.
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of gender equity and transformative concepts
Strong experience of working within a complex national program and working closely with the local Nepali government
Experience working on large bilateral aid-funded projects
