Job Description

WWF Nepal, the global conservation organization leading international efforts for a living planet, seeks applications from qualified Nepali candidates for the following full-time position. The WWF-GEF project, Integrated Landscape Management to Secure Nepal’s Protected Areas and Critical Corridors (ILaM) Project is executed by the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MOFE), Government of Nepal. The 5-year project’s geographic scope is the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL), Nepal, and aims to promote integrated landscape management. The ILaM project provides support in building the ecological integrity of large forested areas, globally significant wildlife populations, and resilience of forest dwelling communities.

PROJECT MANAGER – ILaM Project
Major Responsibilities: The Project Manager–ILaM is responsible for the overall project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. S/he works in close coordination with implementing partners; primarily the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC), Department of Forests and Soil Conservation (DOFSC), park offices and other local and state stakeholders to maximize project outcomes and build internal and external partnerships. 
 
Qualifications: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environment Science, Forestry, Environmental Engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of technical working experience, including 2 years of project management experience and 4-5 years in landscape management.
