Job Description

ICCO Cooperation (ICCO) is a global non-government organization, established in the Netherlands in 1965, and works through 5 regional and 26 country offices in Asia, Africa and Latin America. ICCO co-implements programs  together with local and international partners, knowledge institutes, private sector government agencies and networks that are dedicated to improve food security and sustainable consumption, stimulate economic empowerment, promote responsible businesses and ensure inclusion. In South and Central Asia, ICCO Cooperation works in six countries.

ICCO South and Central Asia-Nepal office invites application from interested and eligible candidates  for the following position for the EU funded project- ¨HAMRO COFFEE- Expanding Opportunities for Nepalese Coffee Producers and Traders”

Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL)Coordinator,  based at CCO Kathmandu office

The core responsibility of the PMEL Coordinator is to ensure effective and efficient planning, monitoring, evaluation of and learning from the project activities, to ensure quality and timely reporting on the progress, and to ensure that the planned milestones, outcomes and impact are achieved by the project. S/he will be working closely with the project partners and program networks/coalitions, other stakeholders in accordance with ICCO Cooperation and EU policies and guidelines. 

 

Profile of the candidate

Education/Knowledge

  • A Master’s degree in  social science, development studies, rural development, sociology or any other relevant social field is required
  • Good knowledge of the social, economic and political situation in Nepal
  • Advanced knowledge on program and program/project design, monitoring & evaluation, data analysis and reporting
  • Good knowledge of programs in the field of sustainable livelihoods, fair economic development, private sector in development, agro-business, value-chain development, market for the poor/market systems development
  • Good knowledge of development issues, change processes and North-South cooperation
  • Knowledge of financial aspects related to funding of programs
  • Good knowledge of multi-stakeholder engagements in development, especially private-public partnership theory and practices

 

Experience

  • Substantial professional experience, of which at least 3 years has been spent on project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation Substantial experience on value chain development of exportable commodities will be an added value
  • Substantial professional experience, of which at least Familiarity with national and/or regional development issues
  • Relevant experience of assessment and analysis of program/project related information, data
  • Substantive knowledge on using various project design tools, such as Theory of Change, LFA.
  • Previous experience on coordinating a European Commission Project will an added value

 

Languages

  • Excellent language skills in English and preferably good knowledge of one or more other local languages

We offer a competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package. Salary is negotiable depending upon the candidate’s experience. The ICCO Cooperation Nepal country office staff manual is applicable regarding the terms of employment.

The successful candidate will be expected to start working from 1st of October, 2018 and will be contracted for six months initially and will be under a probation period for the first 3 months of the contracted period. S/he will be expected to work full time.
