Company Description

SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is a not-for-profit international development organisation. Founded in the Netherlands in 1965, we have built a long-term, local presence in countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors work with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development. SNV has been working in Nepal since 1980 and is active in Agriculture, Renewable Energy and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.

SNV is seeking qualified energetic Nepalese nationals for Research Assistant to conduct and support data collection for research work on Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All (SSH4A) program.

SNV implements the Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All (SSH4A) program, which has the goal of improving sanitation and hygiene through demand creation, sanitation supply chain strengthening, hygiene behaviour change communication, and governance. This goal is met through a capacity building approach and supporting local government to lead and accelerate progress towards district-wide sanitation coverage with a focus on institutional sustainability and learning. The inputs are technical (organisational and institutional) advisory services, evidence-based advocacy and knowledge management.

With this background, SNV Nepal is conducting a study to understand the factors that motivate and sustain quality improvement and innovation under the SSH4A program and its partner stakeholders. Currently, SNV Nepal is planning to conduct this study using in-depth interviews with representatives from SSH4A stakeholders in Kathmandu and four rural districts.
