Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON)is an award winning national umbrella network of youth-led organizations, which acts as a platform for collaboration, cooperation, joint action and collective endeavors between youth organizations in Nepal. AYON currently has 92 youth led member organizations from all provinces of Nepal. Working since 2005, AYON has pioneered in building capacity of youth and youth organizations, undertaking quality research, and carrying out meaningful advocacy to bridge youth voices at the decision making level. Our work and impact over the years has been recognized nationally and internationally. This has been possible through the team of awesome young people we work with. We are looking to expand our team members, and work together to make meaningful impact in the lives of young people and other communities that we work with.
AYON announces vacancy for the following positions. Passionate young people with prior experiences and passion working on social justice, climate change, Disaster Risk Reduction and enhancement of young people are encouraged to apply.
All the positions are for 1 year, with the possibility of extension depending on funding availability and performance.
Program Coordinators (Two Positions: Based in Surkhet and One Position: Based in Janakpur):
Coordinate on specific tasks for assigned municipalities. Works closely with selected Youth lead CSOs( YLCs) in strengthening their organizational capacity to be engaged effectively in Local Disaster Resilience (LDR) and other planning processes. Liaison with the municipalities for developing favorable environment for YLCs and Youth responsive policies in CCA/DRR. Contributes in social accountability efforts i.e. social audit and public hearing with the municipalities and community score card with YLCs. Documentation of evidences, progress and case studies. Previous skill of influencing policies, environmental issues, CCA and DRR will be preferred. Ability to coordinate with youth led CSOs in developing advocacy, strategic plan and mentoring for the implementation of advocacy and campaign events. Assist on capacity building of youth led CSOs in the areas of CCA, DRR and advocacy.
