Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

The position is based at field offices to look after the project activities in Siraha, Saptari and Dang districts with frequent visits to the project sites. The major roles and responsibilities of the incumbent are:

  • To ensure overall planning and timely implementation of activities of the project “ Freedom from Forced Labor and Modern Slavery Project” engaging with local authorities and partners
  • To provide all necessary supports to meet the objectives of the project
  • To protect and promote the human rights and freedoms of forced and bonded labour (BL) especially in the agriculture sector in Nepal.
  • To promote and promote effective systems and mechanisms for prevention from bondage and access the human rights and entitlements through social mobilization, economic empowerment and rescue and rehabilitation of bonded labour in the agriculture sector with special needs focusing on achievement of the project results as described in the project document
  • To undertake other relevant tasks as required by the project in a team approach including monitoring and preparation of the project reports

Core Competencies, Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or relevant disciplinary (Masters Preferred)
  • At least 4 years’ of work experience in human rights, the rights-based approach to promote and ensure effective systems and mechanisms for prevention from bondage related development projects.

Organization Summary
