Job Description

A Multi-sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP) aims to improve nutrition status of people with a focus on Maternal and Child by reducing under-nutrition conditions. Health Research and Social Development Forum (HERD) with the support of UNICEF is implementing a one year project, ‘Support to the Implementation of MSNP’. The project aims to provide technical support to MSNP in terms of institutionalising the capacity of the government staff to ensure the sustainability of the programmes; conduct effective tracking and monitoring progress of the outcomes; establish central surveillance system for regular monitoring and supervision of the progress of the programmes; and document better the success stories and failures of these programmes.

HERD is seeking experienced and dynamic Nepali male and female heroes for two district based positions to support effective implementation of Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP) in 11 districts: Jajarkot, Rukum, Rolpa, Mugu, Dolpa, Humla, Udaypur, Sarlahi, Bara, Dailekh and Doti.

1)    District Coordinator (DC) - 11 (one for each district): Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience in the field of Public Health, Nutrition, Social Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Nursing or related discipline is desirable. Bachelor’s degree in above mentioned discipline with 5 years’ experience in related field can also be considered. Candidates should have demonstrable experience on planning, coordinating, implementation and management of multi-sectoral programmes.  Effective communication, planning and coordination skills within different sectors and experience on training and capacity development on nutrition or relevant areas is a must.
