Health Research and Social Development Forum (HERD), a national organization working in the health and social development sector calls for application from dedicated and dynamic professionals for the position of Statistician/Data Specialist for a period of at least one year (subject to further extension based on performance) having a post graduate degree in Statistics, Demography, Public Health or related field with at least 5 years of demonstrable experience preferably in the health sector.
We require and desire for an experienced senior-level employee who is efficient in managing and analysing large sets of quantitative data drawn from various research and evaluation studies. He/She will be based in central office in Kathmandu and will work closely with the Executive Chairperson and Senior Project Managers for effective planning and execution of research and evaluation studies. The Statistician will have a key research based position leading the Data Management and Analysis Unit – managing other Data Analysts, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Data Management Officers/Assistants and Data Entry Clerks. He/She should also be in tune with the latest systems – highly competent in using standard statistical software such as SPSS, STATA and R and well versed in e-data, both in terms of database design and management (preferably demonstrable skill in using Open Data Kit platform). Overall, he/she should be a thorough professional – with a good blend of technical and managerial skills to contribute as well as supervise the data related outputs produced by HERD.
