Job Description
OLE Nepal (Open Learning Exchange Nepal) is a social benefit organization dedicated to enhancing teaching-learning experience in schools through the integration of technology and to provide uniform access to quality educational materials across different geographic areas and socio-economic strata.
OLE Nepal develops and distributes free educational content, trains teachers to integrate technology in classrooms, implements technology interventions in rural schools, and helps build local capacity in technology and education.
Position: Technical Manager
Required no: Senior level (1)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 4-5 technical associates, including training junior level staff.
- Oversee the existing DevOps cycle.
- Support to procure technical equipment.
- Maintain technical documentation for OLE Nepal office.
- Perform software quality assurance tasks as needed.
- Research and explore edtech technology and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Travel to rural schools for schools system set up and training.
- Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Conduct interviews, hire, and train new technical support/IT staff
- Provide guidance and insight to upper management and procure buy-in
- Delegate technical responsibilities and monitor the progress of projects
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- Review all work produced by development team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent.
- Proven minimum 3 year of experience in project management.
- Research oriented who is a keen learner and constantly looking for the latest and optimal technologies.
- Positive attitude and great team player who can work well with the team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to schools in remote areas.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment
- Exceptional communication and reporting skills
- Solid working knowledge in all required software and programming languages
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
