System Admin Trainee

Job Description

Summary:

The System Administration Trainee will work in the technical team in carrying various tasks related to the designing, establishing, maintenance and/or support of school network, laptops and other equipment, systems administration, office network, power infrastructure and E-Pustakalaya/ E-Paath support and maintenance.

What you will get to do:

• Linux system administration.
• Bash and Python scripting.
• Programming and Deployment.
• DevOps tools : Docker, Vagrant, Continuous Integration tools
• Linux OS customization.
• Field visits.

Networking

• Work together with supervising engineer to plan and implement school networks
• Work towards finding affordable and sustainable solutions
• Configure networking hardware and software
• Seek solutions that use low-power low-cost hardware and open-source software

System Administration:

• Assist the primary system administrator
• Help test and develop the School Server software (NEXS)
• Support to procure technical equipment
• End-user technical support for OLE Nepal staff
• Maintain technical documentation for OLE Nepal office
• Set up and maintain office servers
• Perform software quality assurance tasks as needed

Qualification/Traits:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer engineering/ Electronics/ Information technology or equivalent.
2. Proactive during office hours and school visits.
3. Fit to walk on hilly terrains on a daily basis.
4. Able to work independently without supervision.
5. Motivated and enthusiastic about improving public education in Nepal.
