Job Description
Position: Project Director (PD), SO Nepal
SO Nepal (NGO) is a charitable organization working in the children, education, women & community development sectors since 2005 in partnership SCAI Australia (INGO). We aim to improve the living standard of vulnerable children and families in the project areas predominantly through education.
The Project Director will be required to work closely with the all program coordinators across various districts. S/he will be responsible for implementing all projects smoothly.
Location: Based in Kathmandu District but requires travel to Nuwakot, Dhading, Sindhupalchok , Jhapa and other Districts .
Job responsibilities
1. Prepare a detailed work plan & schedule for all project and update in each month.
2. Being a healthy, aspiration role model and mentor.
3. Prepare a detailed plan for project review; reporting & evaluation form each program officer.
4. Providing relevant guidance to each program coordinator.
5. Supervise and manage project personnel
6. Facilitate coordination with relevant government body and provide update progress & policy to the organization.
7. Provide advice and direction on strategic and policy issue to strength program in organization.
8. Program research, planning and development to ensure program is effective and efficient
9. Developing & Implementing policies on issue like working conditions, performance management,equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures .
10. Communicate with a wider range like donor agency , BOD & relevant project coordinators and absent management .
11. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification and experience:
-Master’s degree, preferably in Social Science or Education
-5+ years of relevant experience
-Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (written and verbal)
-Computer literate (Word, Excel , power presentation )
-Proven ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated, proactive and have strong leadership skills
-High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
-Ability to build a strong rapport with members in board and donor agency
-Candidates will be required to spend at least 70% of their time in the Office and rest at program sites,
so need flexible working hours. Car/ Motorbike/scooter license preferred.
