Position: Youth Program Officer (YPO), SO Nepal
SO Nepal (NGO) is a charitable organization working in thechildren, education, women & community development sectors since 2005 in partnership SCAI Australia (INGO). We aim toimprove the living standard of vulnerable children and families in the project areas predominantly through education.
The Youth Program Officer will be required to work closely with the youth across various programs including the re-integration, college and education scholarship programs. He/she will be responsible for equipping the youth with the life skills they need to become happy, healthy, employable and independent citizens of their local and wider community.
Location: Based in Kathmandu District but requires travel to Nuwakot, Dhading and other Districts
Job responsibilities
1. Inspiring and motivating the youth to reach their full potential
2. Being a healthy, aspirational role model and mentor
3. Assessing the situation of the youth, their competencies and their aims and helping them develop and select appropriate options for future study or work
4. Providingrelevant training and career guidance
5. Providing counselling and guidance to students and families
6. Monitoring and evaluation of all youth activities, including training, study, work experience, job placement
7. Facilitation of involvement in community service activities and social events in the community
8. Program research, planning and development to ensure program is effective and efficient
Qualification and experience:
Candidates will be required to spend at least half of their time in the field at program sites, so need flexible working hours. Motorbike/scooter license preferred.
