Job Description

Position: Geologist

Company: Gurans Cement

Work Station: Hetauda

CTC Salary: Negotiable

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor mine production rates and mining safety to increase efficiency
  2. Check the quality of the production
  3. Evaluate the feasibility of the mining site
  4. Prepare mine design and supervise excavation work.
  5. Suggest methods of excavation and transportation for mined minerals.
  6. Looks after dumping of mines waste produced through machinery etc. so it poses the least environmental hazard or no hazard at all.
  7. Prepares schedules and cost estimates for operations and projects.
  8. Assist in proposing new work approaches, methods, and policies to optimize performance and ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational standards.
  9. Contributes to the development of policies and practices related to the exploration of geology.
  10. Recommend management on improvements to geologic exploration and efficient extraction of valuable minerals and soils.
  11. Actively seeks to learn to improve the product or technical knowledge and skill set.
  12. Draft technical reports for Miners, Engineers, and Business managers.
  13. Interpret geological data, information, and drilling results for both the landfill and mine.
  14. Work cooperatively with various local, state, and federal agencies to comply with permits.
  15. Prepare maps and plans using CAD/GIS and mines mapping software.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Specification

  1. Bachelor’s degree i.e., B.E/B.Tech/B.S or equivalent from a recognized institute
  2. Good writing and designing skills to present clear papers which other team workers could fully understand
  3. Must possess good analytical skills to understand the working circumstances of the Mining and Geological systems.
  4. must be good in numbers to predetermine what a project will cost and how a company or government will benefit from it.
  5. Must be a good team worker, able to learn and make others know in the work environment.
