Primary position purpose The main purpose of this position is to manage an account for day to day cash inflows and outflows, ensuring proper systems and procedures are being followed, and assist the Project Manager with finance issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

General Description of the Role:

 

Key Duties:

 

Finance:

  • Issuing cash payments and ensuring all expenses are reasonable and appropriately authorized and recorded;
  • Monitoring floats outstanding and ensuring they are cleared on a regular basis;
  • Maintaining excel cash and bank books, ensuring all movements are recorded and coded to appropriate donors and projects;
  • Ensuring all purchases have been made following GOAL purchasing procedures and have all relevant supporting documentation attached to payment requisition;
  • Reconciling bank statements and physical cash to the cash tracking sheet daily, and to the cash book weekly;
  • Weekly cash and bank reporting to Country Office
  • Overseeing and submitting funds requests, including liaising with SFO and FC to ensure sufficient funds are on hand;
  • Ensuring payroll remittances are made each month on a timely basis;
  • Induction training in finance procedures (forms, etc.) for all new field staff;
  • Send monthly TDS tracking sheet to SFO for TDS tracking and deposit in time

 

  • Assist FC in monthly budgeting process
  • Keeping the FC       updated on work progress throughout the month, and bringing all major issues to his or her attention;
  • Other duties as requested by Financial Controller.

 

Administration:

  • General Administration of field office
  • Record keeping of Time Sheets, Staff Attendance, Annual Leave etc
  • Supporting Local team in Administrative tasks
  • Liaison with HR for other HR related tasks

Requirements:

  • Qualification Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
  • Accounting qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, ICAN,ACA)
  • Previous experience working in NGO finance and Admin
  • Good Knowledge of Tax system of Nepal
  • Excellent written and spoken English, outgoing personality with excellent communication and training skills
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
  • Good team player, flexible, ability to meet strict deadlines and capable of working with a multinational country team
  • Very enthusiastic and keen to work hard to achieve the objectives of the organization
