Job Description
Abt Associates, a major American reserach, technical assistance, and international development company, seeks highly qualified technical and regional specialists for the anticipated USAID- funded Strengthening Tenure and Resource Rights (STARR II) IDIQ program. The program will focus on securing resource rights and improving resource governance in rural and urban areas in key countries and regions.
Minimum Qualifications

University degree in the environmental sciences or a related field
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
-
Minumum of five years professional experience in one or more of the technical areas outlines below:
Technical Areas of Interest:
-
Land Tenure (including but not limited to customary land tenure systems)
-
Land rights and Access for Women and Disadvantage groups
-
Community-based adjudication of land disputes, rangeland management, etc
-
Land Administration
-
Land Law and Policy
-
Post-Conflict/Post-Disaster Land Tenure
-
Climate Change and Land Tenure
-
Securing Resource Rights and Improving Resource Governance in Rural or/and Urban areas
-
Participatory Land and Resource Planning
-
Capacity building (government entitities managing land and/or civil society organizations advocating for land rights)
-
GIS and Spatial analysis
-
Agricultural Economics
-
Responsible land-based Investment
Country Expertise:
-
Mexico, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Nepal and Zambia
