Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)  

Main purpose of job:

To maintain Embassy estates for it to be fit for purpose

Roles and responsibilities:

Regular works:

  • Assist team to do MSRF tasks on regular basis to continue the Mission’s operations.
  • Wear protective uniforms according to assigned tasks to meet FCO health & safety standard in regular works.
  • Assist to follow the PPM/Policy and works for it and meet the deadline as per our PPM.
  • Ad hoc tasks delegated by TWS and provide updates on the same. 

Schedule/Preventive maintenance works:

  • To conduct daily inspection and housekeeping of all Diesel Engine Generator Sets to check battery charge status and hydrometer battery water testing, radiator water, engine lubrication oil level and lead acid testing of lubrication oil,  water jacket heater operation and to keep accurate logs and records of all operating parameters.
  •  Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to TWS
  • To carry out inspection, routine/preventative maintenance of General pump and pressurisation pump.
  • To assist the Breakdown maintenance and servicing of RO plant, Swimming pool, Filtration plant and other works
  • To carry out the Routine Test, Inspection and servicing of tools, Harness, Ladders & Scaffolds, Kids Play ground, Swimming pool, RO Plant and Filtration plant and keep the record for the of Chemicals used as per FCO standards.
  • To carry out the inspection & servicing of solar water heater and Water Heater
  • To assist the technician for routine preventative maintenance of the water pipeline system.
  • To assist the technician for routine preventative maintenance of ground & high level water tank and cisterns.
  • To carry out the routine maintenance, check-up, inspection of all the Plumbing fixtures and pipe lines of residential and official accommodations.
  • To carry out the breakdown maintenance of the Plumbing home appliances and its installation at residential and official accommodations.
  • Chimney cleaning, Rain water/Sewer Drainage cleaning and Roof & gutter as per PPM.
  • To carry out the inspection & servicing of solar water heater and Water Heater and other point of use of water.
  • To carry out the routine preventative maintenance of  anti-scaling, legionella testing at residential and official accommodations 

New Works:

  • To carrying out Installation of New three phase and single phase power generator and used small home generator ( Crisis generator)
  • To carry out batteries lead acid unsealed and any types of battery repair / Servicing and maintenance as per PPM.
  • To lead/assist on plumbing projects including new installations, repairs. Fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • To carry out the installation Water Dispenser, Micro-Oven and Euro guard, etc.
  • Assisting all the trade persons to carry out their new tasks i.e. Electrician, Plumber, Painter, A/C Technician, Mason and Carpenter when doing major new works.
  • To carry out Installation of Fire Safety Equipment and Home Appliances
  • To carry out the repairing of plumbing fixtures/ fittings and toilet.
  • To carry out Installation of Euro Guard, Fire Safety Equipment and plumbing related Home Appliances (Washing M/C, Dryer M/C etc.) 

Miscellaneous Works:

  • Learn & develop your skills in Electrical, Carpenter, painter, Aircon and mason and operate generator, the filtration plant & swimming pool system for conducting weekend duty.
  • Keep & clean tools and machines in proper position after using it.
  • Develop your skills in all trades to meet Mission’s multi-tasking policies and take the responsibility and custody of maintenance stores and procurement as per need.  

Language requirements:  

Language: English (Spoken and Written: Fluent), Local language

Essential qualifications, skills and experience  

  • T SLC with three years of experience in related field . 
  • Computer literate – Word, Outlook (email) and Excel (desired)
  • Four Wheeler driving license (desired )
  • Working visa, if not Nepali, or have the status to work in Nepal.
