Job Description

Technical Shelter Management

·         Responsible for implementation, management, supervision, oversee the technical design and execution and evaluate and support of the assigned Shelter project(s) in line with the Terms of Reference for the intervention, and any applicable national and international guidelines and standards.

·         Ensure the project is implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with Medair, donor, country and international standards i.e. Sphere and HAP standards

·         Representation of Medair at meetings and through relationships with external partners (e.g. community leaders, local and national government officials, UN agencies and other NGOs)

 

This job description covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from staff. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organisational needs.

Job Specification

Experience / Competencies

·         4 years post-qualification professional experience in a relevant field, project management experience in a construction and rural community context

·         Good report writing skills; good practical skills: able to learn fast

·         Energetic leader. Can effectively lead a team to respond fast to emerging crises

·         Aptitude for community mobilisation and capacity-building

Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS-Excel, word and Outlook, able to use GPS mapping
