Project Officer (Level 6) – 2 (LREP Project-1, Based At Kailali, And SAKS Project-1, Based At Dhading)

Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit making, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

Livelihood and Resilience Enhancement Project (LREP) is funded by The Development Fund, Norway and being implemented in Bardiya, Kailali, Humla and Sindhupalchok districts. The project aims to improve food and nutrition security, income and resilience of small and marginal farm families in western terai and hills of Nepal.

Sustainable Agriculture Kits (SAKs) project is funded by IDRC and being implemented by LI-BIRD in Nepal in partnership with Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) and Anamolbiu Private Limited with technical support from the University of Guelph, Canada. The project aims to identify, test and scale up low cost agriculture technologies to help smallholder farmers.

LI-BIRD invites applications from eligible Nepali citizens who are reliable, accountable and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the position.

Job Summary: The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the project activities in close collaboration with the project team. Major duties include: planning, monitoring and quality control of project activities, providing technical guidance to the team, data management, report writing, communication, coordination and networking with government and private sector stakeholders.

Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related fields. Candidates with one year work experience will have an advantage.
