PROGRAM HEAD


Qualification and Experience

  • Masters degree in Management/Social World any other Social Sciences/ Physical Education/Sports
  • 10+ years in the social sector out of which 5 years must have been in a similar leadership role. Proven track record of performance and stability in previous roles is an added advantage
     

Role:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of an ambitious portfolio of high-quality and well managed Magic Bus program across the country.
  • Make a leading contribution to the overall strategy and organizational development of Magic Bus, to strengthen co-ordination and collaboration within and across teams, and to build team spirit and morale
  • Key responsibilities—Strategy development & implementation, programme management, fund management, donor relations, advocacy, communication and supporting the Country Director.

Organization Summary

Magic Bus is an India based NGO with an objective to move children out of poverty by nurturing them on a journey from education to livelihood. They use mentors, sports-based curricula and an ecosystem approach to engage children and ensure that they make the right choices all the way through to better livelihoods as adults.

Starting with a single programme in a Mumbai slum in 1999, Magic Bus now has operational offices across 22 states in India as well as London and Singapore. They are one of the largest poverty alleviation programmes in India working with 370,000 children and 8500 trained volunteers.

With their proven experience and expertise of over 15 years in India, globally relevant pedagogy, language neutral methodology and large funding volumes, Magic Bus has taken the strategic step to expand its programmes to Nepal, operating out of Kathmandu.
