Job Description

OPD Outpatient Department.

Nidan is looking for an experienced OPD Manager to lead and manage all the activities of the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD) manpower and physical resources to ensure that hospital’s OPD is run efficiently and effectively, as a business/ revenue centre, which generates income above expenditure, with due regard to Customer Care and quality services that promote customer attraction, retention and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement an outpatient department strategy that is aligned to the hospital’s vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  2. Liaise with other managers across the organization to ensure that outpatient strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the organization and align with the hospitals overall objectives.
  3. Ensure that all activities are conducted accurately, ethically, and according to the relevant policies, procedures, standards and government regulations.
  4. Manage the OPD staff, organizing staffing schedules to meet the needs for the OPD service, monitoring their performance for the purpose of periodic assessment, overseeing patient billing, resolving complex patient inquiries or issues and reporting to the management.
  5. Control and supervise employees in Medical Report Section, Registration, Appointment Section and all OPD Receptionists.
  6. Participate in the planning, creation, organization and introduction of new OPD Clinics.
  7. Prepare and submit reports on the OPD functions.
  8. Lead, direct, and control all outpatient policies, procedures, and activities so that they meet the hospital’s overall business objectives and protect the organization’s patient relationship and public reputation.
  9. Develop and coordinate the Quality/Performance Improvement Program within his/her area of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Hospital Management or any related field from a reputed institution.
  • Proven work experience in a hospital in patient service/public relations, preferably with at least one year experience in a management position.
  • Should have good leadership skills and must be assertive with ability to direct, control, coach and develop staff.
  • Should have strong communications and people skills to interact daily with patients, families, administrative staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Should also be honest, detail-oriented, confident, compassionate, and organized.
  • Should have computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Should be fluent in English and Nepali
