Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Assist project team on planning of monitoring and evaluation plan to measure program efficiency and effectiveness
  • Update on monitoring indicators on timely manner for timely reporting of project achievements.
  • Provide technical assistance to strengthen results-based documentation, monitoring, supervision and feed-back system of the project against the M&E plan.
  • Support baseline and end line evaluations, and other assessment and/or research related to the project.

Tracking the quality of services

  • Monitor both quality of case-level processes and project-level outputs.
  • Track client satisfaction with the quality of services to help project management team to monitor progress and make timely changes in interventions, coordination between and among service providers including the issue of ensuring tight safety and security of GBV survivors.

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Collect and compile data from all project activities including qualitative data through case studies, and human interest stories
  • Ensure that all the data related to helpline and GBVIMS are updated in a timely manner.
  • Compile monthly/quarterly monitoring data and conduct analysis to highlight major variances and recommend issues for further investigation
  • Ensure data quality of the periodic report; verify those data and information from sources periodically in sample basis.
  • Prepare quality reports by analyzing the data and information accomplished by application of relevant statistical software and tools and recommends appropriate correction measures to address the gaps and discrepancies in programming.

Job Specification

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, social research, development studies or a related field with 3 years relevant experience in developing/using database and conducting assessment/research is desirable.
  • Expertise in MS Excel, MS Access, and SPSS preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Strong understanding and experience on project design, M&E methods, processes and tools including result  based monitoring.
  • Knowledge and experience to use statistical tools and software packages.
  • Strong skills in communication effectively with good writing/editing skills in producing reports.

Organization Summary

National Women Commission (NWC) is the key agency responsible for monitoring GBV, as well as investigating and recommending cases to law enforcement agencies. NWC is currently implementing the project titled Integrated Platform for Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response in Nepal which aims to promote greater awareness and changes in social norms that lead to GBV, improve the quality and reach of support services for GBV survivors, and strengthen the capacity of National Women Commission in addressing GBV. A key feature of this project will be the establishment of a national helpline that will help to improve the delivery of services to survivors of violence.
