The Field Mobilizer role is a field based, staff position for Empower Generation (EG). S/He will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and managing field based activities, which include working with sales agents and entrepreneurs within EG’s network. The Field Mobilizer is responsible for regularly contacting the sales agents and entrepreneurs and providing them with the tools to better run their businesses. S/He will implement, monitor and report on the sales agents and entrepreneurs’ activities under the guidance of Programme Coordinator. Each Field Mobilizer will be responsible for a coverage area of three districts. Locals from the above mentioned districts are highly encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities
Meet in-person regularly with sales agents (at least one sales agent per day) and entrepreneurs and motivate them to continue their business
Set up weekly meetings with sales agents and entrepreneurs
Ensure sales agents and entrepreneurs participate in the programs conducted by EG
Collect entrepreneurs and sales agents’ stories as well as data and information and update the EG office
Collect customer feedback and report back to the entrepreneurs and sales agents on how they can improve their performance
Help the Programme Coordinator implement various training and promotion programs as well as the Renewable Energy Awareness Program
Facilitate EG’s various programs (Business Canvas, Sales Promotions, Sales and Marketing Training, etc.)
Update the entrepreneurs and sales agents progress weekly to the EG office
Train and support entrepreneurs and sales agents on keeping financial, customer, and sales, and monthly records
Perform due diligence to ensure that the bank records of entrepreneurs, match all monthly reporting, sales and profit and loss statements
Make sure entrepreneurs and sales agents are paying their loan and line of credit to the concerned party in a timely manner
Report on the problems that the entrepreneurs and sales agents’ face in carrying out their business to the EG office.
Reporting structure
Field Mobilizers will report to the Programme Coordinator.
Field Mobilizers have no direct reports.
Job Specification
Strong desire to support rural women in Nepal to become community business leaders known for outstanding customer service.
Mid-level experience in the development sector is preferred.
Locals from the field area are preferred.
Business, economics or sales experience is desirable.
Experience working in social work or community outreach or with microfinance institutions or cooperatives is desirable
Must travel within the coverage area on a regular basis.
