Job Description

The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC- A Project of Spinal Sangh Nepal) is the non- profit charitable organization. It was inaugurated in April, 2002 by the late Sir Edmund Hillary, at Jorpati, Kathmandu, Nepal. It shifted to its current custom-built facility at Saanga village, Kavre District, in 2008. Over nearly a decade of work, the Spinal Centre has developed a range of facilities to support the spinal injured people of Nepal, who come from the most marginalized bracket of society. The centre offers holistic rehabilitation services to spinal cord injured patients so that they are able to rebuild their lives within the limits of their ability when they go back to the society.

We are hiring Senior Finance Officer and Vocational Training and Employment Officer.

Job Title: Vocational Training & Employment Officer
 

Job Responsibilities
a. Marketing of products made in VT unit; find sellers; plan for more sale; find the ways
b. Coordinate with outside parties for job placement to SCI patients, education to children,potential training etc.
c. Develop data base of patients related to education, employment, training and skills history
d. Work on reintegration
i. Study
ii. Business start up
iii. Job placement
e. Help to make CVs of potential candidates
f. Mentally prepare them for job and work
 - Disable People’s Organization (DPO) coordination for patients referrals/training/education/job placement/reintegration
g. Research for new training problems development and introduce new training which are suitable to market demand
h. Develop detail training content coordinating with experts
i. Advocacy for disability rights in the local and national level
j. Develop patients’ vocational training schedule once patients training assessment file is received from OT Department
k. Motivate and encourage patients to take vocational training; if required bring patients to unit
l. Assist providing actual training to patients and caretakers (basic computer training,candle making training, sewing training etc.)
m. Data entry and record keeping for training provided
n. Assist on developing training manual in coordinate with Training Department
o. Find out cost of production and determine the price of the product
p. Develop detail content of training provided in the vocational training unit
q. Suggest new training options
r. Generate report of employment and training of the current and ex-patients

 

Qualification:
- MBA in marketing/finance completed or result waiting students can apply
- Previous job experience will enhance the possibility of selection
- Candidate must be outgoing, creative and proactive
- Must have skills to write CVs, teach interview skills and negotiate with parties
- Must have initiative and leadership skills
- Candidate must have enough IT skills, if the candidate if from IT/computer background high level of preference shall be given during selection process.

 

Working Schedules
· Hours: 9 AM to 4 PM 
· 6 days a week; Alternative Sunday off Pay and Benefits (applicable for both posts)
· Staff can catch the Staff Bus from Kathmandu to Bhainsepati (return) every work day. No charge. 
· Payment shall be decided based on SIRC rule. 
· Medical insurance facility upon the completion of certain job duration
· Equitable monthly and yearly holidays
