Job Description

The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC- A Project of Spinal Sangh Nepal) is the non- profit charitable organization. It was inaugurated in April, 2002 by the late Sir Edmund Hillary, at Jorpati, Kathmandu, Nepal. It shifted to its current custom-built facility at Saanga village, Kavre District, in 2008. Over nearly a decade of work, the Spinal Centre has developed a range of facilities to support the spinal injured people of Nepal, who come from the most marginalized bracket of society. The centre offers holistic rehabilitation services to spinal cord injured patients so that they are able to rebuild their lives within the limits of their ability when they go back to the society.

We are hiring Senior Finance Officer and Vocational Training and Employment Officer.

Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Working Hour: 9 AM to 4 PM; 6 days a week; alternative Sunday off

Salary: Negotiable

Nature: Full Time

Working Place: Sanga Kavre Nepal

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Establish and implement financial procedures in line with organizational requirements

• Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with organizational and donor requirements and deadlines

• Develop and implement financial system for the projects

• Establish and prepare accurate and timely reports for budget monitoring and progress reporting of projects

• Provide financial management advice on revisions of budget, preparing periodical forecasts and any changes needed

• Responsible for annual auditing process

• Ensure that all project finance and accounting functions are systematically carried out and on track, including budget, assets management, cash flow management

• Prepare financial variance and accounts analysis in accordance to accounting principles, financial policies, procedures;

• Ensure that appropriate financial management systems are maintained and required procedures and controlling; and make sure that they are implemented effectively

• Systems are in place and implemented effectively

• Process for VAT refund and other activities

• Prepare financial monthly reports as required and report to management

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/ Management with Major in Finance; at least 4 years of experience in project planning, fund monitoring and producing different financial reports in NGO sector or Master in Business Administration with finance major having at least 2 years of experience in financial management in NGO .

• Good understanding and experience of financial management in NGO sector;

• Familiar with government policy of NGO including VAT and tax, as well as the accounting and auditing standards;

• Good leadership, coordination, negotiation and communication/interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of financial software

• Good in spoken and written Nepali and English language
