Job Description

Samriddha Pahad UK - an international NGO - is part of an American-company led consortium that is bidding for USAID five-year - Feed the Future (FTF) Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture in Nepal (KISAN II) Project.

Senior Specialist — Value Chain Finance/Agriculture Finance Full Time (few positions needed)

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate should be able to design intervention and provide managerial leadership to supervise its implementation. Should be able to support various market-led initiatives that are aimed to mobilize the finance for the growth of agro-enterprises (staple, horticulture, and dairy-value chains).He/she should make sure the mobilized finance increases the production, productivity, and access to markets of the above mentioned areas. Candidate should initiate activities that would engage all the players of the access to finance channel, including banks and financial institutions, micro-finance institutions, cooperatives, farmers, agro-enterprises, and a wide range of local and regional partners to boost the quality and accessibility of financial services tailored to meet the demands of finance for agriculture and its related components.

Preferred Qualification and Experience: 

Preference will be given to candidates with Master's Degree in agriculture finance and business. Work experience of at least 7 years on the realm of economic development with special focus on areas - access to finance, financial products & services, and agro-finance. Candidates are expected to have technical expertise and experience required to evaluate and propose improvements to value chain finance. He/she should be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Should be proficient in both written and spoken English and also should have outstanding communication skills. Candidates with relevant experience with donor agencies (esp. USAID projects) will have an added bonus.
