Job Description

  • Conduct daily NFE classes for the children of center according to their   levels of classes.
  • Evaluate and classify the level of educational standard of the children and  prescribe the appropriate textbooks or curses.
  • List out all requires educational materials such as books and textbooks,   stationaries and present to the PM for that account department purchase and provided timely.
  • Organize curricular and extra curricular activities according to their desire  and interest such as dance classes, yoga therapy, Meditation or drawings     and painting and sports activities etc.
  • Maintain discipline in the center at all time to avoid fighting between children.

 

  • Organizing three times in a week meeting with the children and the staffs of the center. Ensuring the proactive participation of the children in the meeting. Discuss about the manifold problems of the children, keeping in mind about the forthcoming plans of the children, putting heads together about the families of the children and consulting with the children about the possibility of referral to reintegrate.
  • Organize various kinds of recreational and motivational activities in the drop – in center for and with the children. Such as, music, dancing, painting and drawing etc. Assist program manager at drop in center.
  • Take part in providing Non – Formal Education to the children in Drop – in center. Assist and advocate the NFE taskforce in delegating Non – Formal Education within the center.
  • Providing radical medical treatment to the children, doing basic dressing to the wounded children in the Drop – in center. Taking the children to the hospital / referring the children to other partner organization in case of any emergency problem.
  • Assist cook in Distributing the dhal bhat twice a day to the DIC  children / managing the children to eat their food.
  • Prepare the monthly progress report of the center and provide the monthly progress report  to DIC coordinator   on a monthly basis .
  • Actively partaking in the Program Coordinator and Coordination Meeting weekly to review about the progress of the children of the center. In addition, organizing Center’s internal meeting in the head office.
  • Working in close collaboration with other partner organizations working in the field of Street Children in Nepal with proper coordination with DIC coordinator .
  • Carrying out the weekly recreational program inside/outside the center.
  • Dealing with the visitors, stakeholders and external people from different Organization explaining them about the daily operational program and day to day activities of the center.
  • Working closely with the Nepali / Foreigner volunteers within the center. Assisting, managing and supporting the volunteers in their work.
  • Providing basic awareness classes to the children of the center with regard to the sanitation, personal hygiene, HIV / AIDS, CSA/CSEC Impact and consequences of Glue Sniffing , drugs and Importance of family and society etc……….
  • Working in close collaboration with the Re -integration program coordinator in planning and subsequent organizing various internal / external activities including family visits, follow up  etc.. for the children  .
  • Participated in other organization's meeting/ program like forum meeting, etc.
  • Coordinated with BLC team for educational support of selected outreach street children found during field visit.
  •  Go and meet the children staying in the streets to identify and know each of them and build friendly and trusty relationship and Systematically record names of all children met during fielding, as well as age, basic bio data and ID picture of all new comers. 
  • Protect children from main dangers, especially the younger ones, against all form of abuses (sexual, physical, etc.)
  • Offer moral support, counseling and orientation to children in need
  • Providing emergency support , guaranteeing their security and safety throughout the night in case of emergency.
  • Provide service as a night caretaker 1 time in a week.
  • Database update of APCN coordinate with DIC Coordinator.

Job Specification

Under the supervision of DIC coordinator , this position is responsible for the overall activities under DIC.. As per the necessity, priority will be given for the activities at  center with children.   especially in street children programs, according to their capacity, availability and current needs of programs (daily schedule under the responsibility of street programs coordinator  ).  Has to conduct the activities with children in  center.
