Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Work with individuals and groups to improve mental health
  • Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences.
  • Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide.
  • Work with needed families and supported students of APC-N.
  • Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight.
  • Develop therapeutic processes.
  • Refer clients to psychologists and other services.
  • Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to mental health care.

 

 

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

 

  • Organizing meeting with the children and the staffs of the center. Ensuring the proactive participation of the children in the meeting. Discuss about the manifold problems of the children, keeping in mind about the forthcoming plans of the children, Preparing and consulting with the children about the referral for Reintegration.
  • Organize various kinds of recreational and motivational activities in the drop – in center for the children.
  • Take part in providing Non – Formal Education to the children in Drop – in center. Assist and advocate the NFE taskforce in delegating Non – Formal Education within the center.
  • Prepare the monthly progress report of the center and provide the monthly progress report to Director on a monthly basis.
  • Actively taking part in the Case management Meeting to review about the progress of the children of the center.
  • Working in close collaboration with other organizations working in the field of Street Children.
  • Working in close collaboration with the Street Program head & Director in planning and subsequent organizing various internal / external activities for the children.
  • Participation in training/seminar/workshops organized by partner organization or other organization regularly upon approval from the Management.

Job Specification

Under the supervision of Director, this position is responsible for the overall Counseling to children and parents of DIC and prevention program proper coordination with program coordinators. APCN is a unique team and the holder is required to work in various programs, especially in street children programs, according to their capacity, availability and current needs of programs (daily schedule under the responsibility of Executive Director). The concerned staff has to conduct the activities with children in center
