Job Description

Shelter Technical Construction Officer - 1

Purpose Oversee implementation of the Medair reconstruction project in Sindhupalchok, Ramechhap, and Okhaldhunga


Key Responsibilities

ï‚· To ensure implementation and completion of the project on identified field sites within agreed timeframe

ï‚· To maintain a thorough record of technical changes, designs, and revisions introduced by households

ï‚· To provide safe shelter reconstruction awareness, technical seismic resilient construction trainings, public school construction monitoring support to the implementation of the project on field sites

ï‚· Assist with mobilization of community members, and occasionally liaison between MEDAIR and community leaders/organizations.


Required Qualifications:

ï‚· Construction technical experience – training and/or site supervision and monitoring

ï‚· Construction and management experience Mud masonry and Dry stone masonry, URM and RCC building experience,

ï‚· Team-player with good inter-personal skills

ï‚· Experience of working in remote field locations, experience of working with NGOs or INGO’s,

ï‚· 3+ years working with a professional design and construction engineering/architecture firm

ï‚· Willing to travel and/or stay in remote and rural high altitude areas

ï‚· Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner

ï‚· Can prioritize work to meet deadlines with problem solving ability

ï‚· Good English (spoken and written)
