Job Description

Position Summary:
The Senior Project Officer will facilitate, coordinate, and ensure effective implementation of the LIFE Project in Jajarkot District, focusing on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and Earthquake Preparedness.

The position will be stationed with the local implementing partner organization, working closely with Caritas Nepal, partner staff, and local stakeholders. The role emphasizes technical support, and quality assurance, ensuring that activities are implemented effectively, inclusively, and in alignment with Caritas Nepal’s humanitarian principles, donor standards, and national frameworks.

Job Specification

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change Adaptation, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum Three years of progressive experience in project coordination, preferably in DRR/CCA or disaster preparedness.
  • Proven experience in community-based DRR, earthquake preparedness, and resilience programming.
  • Strong skills in project cycle management, M&E, and reporting.
  • Experience working with local governments, NGOs, and CBOs, preferably through partnership models.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English and Nepali.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to develop Terms of Reference (ToRs) for project staff, consultants, and activities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to reside in Jajarkot and travel frequently to rural and remote sites.
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring close coordination with Caritas Nepal.
