SEBAC-Nepal, a leading national NGO working in the field of Water, Sanitation, Health and Hygiene, Climate Change, Livelihood & NRM, and Governance & Peace Building, invites application from the qualified, dynamic, and result oriented individuals for the following position on regular basis.

 

Title of the project: Rural Access project (RAP) - III

Job Title: Project Officer

Report to: Executive Director, SEBAC-Nepal

Supervise: To Admin and Finance Officer, JT, JTA, Overseer and Social Mobilisers

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.      Planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting of the project's field level activities at village and district level

 

·         Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document which includes formation and capacity building of Road Builders Group (RBG)/ producers/marketing groups, network of producers groups, setting up links with service providers and government institutions and developing economic infrastructures along the road corridor

·         Ensure effective implementation of  approved plan and activities in accordance with the with the agreed methods/strategies

·         Regular monitoring and review of field activities in each corridors/ to ensure that activities are in line with achieving expected outputs

·         Participate in monitoring activities together with Practical Action and IMC

·         Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual technical and financial progress reports to Practical Action focal person as per the MOU

 

2.      Project Coordination and communication

 

·         Prepare Coordinate with line agencies (DDC/DADO/DLSO), communities, project beneficiaries, local private sector service agents and suppliers, and other stakeholders at project level for effective delivery of project activities.

·         Communicate the project related information regularly to project focal person of Practical Action and external stakeholders as and when required.

·         Travel frequently to project villages in respective districts and communicate with project beneficiary communities as per needs.

·         Maintain good relations with project beneficiaries and district local governments and other district level stakeholders

 

3.      Disseminating the experiences

·         Coordinate and facilitate for local workshops and training for district stakeholders and beneficiary communities as planned in the project action plans of respective districts

·         Attend meetings, workshops and other information dissemination events with different district level stakeholders

 

4.      External Communication

·         Provide constructive suggestions and field level feedbacks to the Project Staff of Practical Action Nepal

·         Represent the project and Partner Organization at different levels of meetings, workshops as and when necessary

 

5.      Other responsibilities as directed by Project focal person

 

Job Specification

Minimum Qualification:

 

·         At least Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture science /livestock or development studies or social sciences, with at least five years of work experience in rural development in general and income generating activities in particular

·         Strong communication and analytical skills and fluent in spoken and written English and  Nepali

·         Good report writing skill

·         Knowledge and skills in basic computing

·         Good knowledge and experience of participatory development approaches

·         Willingness and enthusiasm to stay and work with vulnerable communities living in rural and remote areas of the district

·         Preference will be given to the candidates which served in the previous phases of the Rural Access Project (RAP)

 

Contract period: Initially for two years

 

Duty station:  District headquarter (Mangalsen), Achham

 

Salary Range: NRs. 60,000 to 71,000 per month, on the basis of job knowledge, skills and experiences.
