Job Description

WHH is operational in Nepal since 2012, and currently managing different project in eight districts under three program thematic areas (sectors): food and nutrition security; right to food and empowerment; and disaster risk reduction and reconstruction. WHH works hand in hand with civil society in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and to ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition.

Together with its partner in the district (RIMS – Resource Identification and Management Society), WHH Nepal has been managing Restoring Food & Nutrition Security and Building Resilient Livelihoods in Earthquake Affected Area project in Dhading district with an objective to enhance agricultural production, nutritional awareness, and income generation through cash/ food for assets. To be part of the project team, WHH is looking a dynamic candidate for the position of:

Project Engineer

The selected candidate will be responsible for scheme finalization, technical feasibility, design/ drawing, endorsement, and quality monitoring and reporting. The position will orient and guide the partner’s civil engineering technical staffs for quality infrastructure construction and rehabilitation. The position will work closely with Project Manager and technical focal person from donor organization to ensure the timely execution of project activities and to fulfill all the technical construction compliances. Bachelor in Civil Engineering and at least three years of community infrastructure design and monitoring work experience is required.

The position is district-based and will be stationed at WHH’s Dhadingbesi sub-office in Dhading district. The contract will initially be of one and half months (15 June – 31 July 2017), and will be extended further depending upon the performance and funding situation. The selected candidates are expected to join the organization within one week after selection notice. Salary and benefits will be as per WHH’s General Terms and Conditions for National Staff of Nepal.
