Project Coordinator

Job Description

Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), working for the protection and promotion of human rights and social justice in Nepal requires the application from qualified and committed Nepali candidates for a position based in Kathmandu dealing with disaster prevention education and awareness programs for school teachers.

Position: Project Coordinator

Core Responsibilities

• Coordination with selected local municipalities and schools in Kathmandu valley to conduct Disaster Risk Reduction workshops and trainings
• Field surveys to earthquake affected areas within Kathmandu valley
• Documentation, report writing and dissemination of activities (English, Nepali)

Required Qualifications

• At least Bachelor degree in social sciences and development studies
• Have previous work experience in the related field (e.g. disaster education, teaching material development, etc)
• Have strong interest and commitment in working with teachers and elementary school students
• Extensive professional experience in project coordination work between educational facilities, government bodies and NGOs/ INGOs.
• Fluent English and Nepali languages
• Proficient in computer operations and applications (MS Office)
• Able to work on weekends or on holidays when required

Duration

August, 2016 – June 30, 2017 with possibility of extension.
