Job Description

Survivors Nepal is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an innovative and entrepreneurial leader with significant experience of managing in an NGO, to provide successful guidance and management of Survivors Nepal’s operations. 

Survivors Nepal emerged during early response to the 2015 Nepal Earthquake. It worked on relief, recovery and rehabilitation of communities most affected by the earthquake, and ultimately became a platform for the wider community of Nepal and abroad to unite and act during disasters. Subsequently, it has focused on public health issues in Nepal, specifically on mental health.

The role of Director is responsible for the effective and efficient management of all human resources, finances, programs and projects, strategic plan implementation, fundraising, membership, communication, marketing, and community outreach. The Director will work closely with the Board to oversee the mission and vision of the organisation while ensuring sustainability and delivering high-quality services to and with our target communities.

The position of Director is located at the Survivors office in Thapathali, Kathmandu and will report directly to the Board.

Job Specification

·         Master’s degree in Management or Business or Development or Public Health).

·         Minimum of five years of experience managing a not-for-profit organisation.

·         Experience managing at minimum of 5 people and more.

·         Track record in mobilization of external resources including demonstrated successful application process.

·         Sound understanding of all MS office programs and regular use of email and social media for correspondence, promotion and marketing.

·         Excellent command of written and spoken English and Nepali.

·         Ability to work in a busy, multi-cultural working environment, handling the pressure of work while guiding program outcomes and good financial management.
