Job Description

Nepal GoodWeave Foundation (NGF) is an active member of GoodWeave International having country affiliates in Nepal, India, USA, UK, Germany and Afghanistan. GoodWeave is a global nonprofit initiative working for appropriate preventive, rehabilitation & education programs and vocational training opportunities for disadvantaged children and families. NGF invites applications for the following position:

OFFICE ASSISTANT: 1
Term: Regular (Duration: Initially 2 years with 6 month probation period)
Age: 18 â€ 30 years
Location: Kathmandu (Office of NGF)

Job Description:


• Administration of day‐to‐day affairs of the office including telephone, computers, visitors, mails, etc.
• Assistance to the senior officials of NGF by facilitating to carry out their work.
• Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence.
• Assist seniors in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences, participation and workshops.
• Perform clerical duties in order to maintain NGF's administration.
• Maintenance of inventory of stationery, other office materials and assets.
• Re‐direct calls as appropriate and take adequate messages when required.
• Greet, assist and/or direct clients, visitors and the general public.
• Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries whenever possible.
• Support the Executive Director and other staff as requested.
• Provide administrative services for the Executive Director.

Qualification and Experiences:


• Minimum Intermediate Degree (+2) in management or social sciences or related field from recognized university.
• Minimum 1 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in front desk, reception or as office assistant or personal secretary with nonprofit or similar organization.  
• Knowledge of general official operational activities of NGOs and general policies.  
• Hands‐on experience in giving information to visitors and answering their questions.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with phone and email inquiries.
• Able to maintain an organized reception area.
• Proficiency with MS word, Excel both in Nepali and English typing.
• Good interpersonal communications and computer proficiency.
