Job Description

Gender and Social Inclusion and Livelihoods Expert (based in Butwal with frequent travel to project districts)
The GESI Expert will be responsible for management of social inclusion and development programme of MSFP and western Terai region. S/He will provide technical backstopping to the district based officers and partners in practicing approach of mainstreaming gender, equity and social inclusion into MSFP practices and interventions. The theme leader will also liaise with MSFP SSU and other regional theme leaders to ensure that gender and social inclusion issues are well reflected and scaled up in MSFP areas.

Minimum Requirements:
 Bachelor degree in Gender studies, social science or development studies with 10 years experience or Masters Degree with 3 years experience.
 At least 5 years experience of working social forestry and rural development.
 At least three years experience in social mobilization and use of participatory approaches Knowledge of key issues in rural development (gender, exclusion, poverty, social inclusion, equity, empowerment, etc)
 Sound understanding of Western Terai region and the Social issues
