Job Description
This is a long term and mid level position based in Kathmandu Office of S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd (Scott Wilson Nepal) /Deego Pvt Ltd in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. We are a Nepali consultancy firm working for more than 12 years in the development sector.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum Bachelors degree in Population, Sociology, Geography or related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in data and information
management system.
Personal abilities
ï‚· Fluent in English (spoken and written).
ï‚· Proficient in Microsoft Office Package and SPSS. Working knowledge of MS Assess and other database application will be an added advantage.
ï‚· Strong IT or GIS knowledge will be added advantage.
ï‚· Strong quantitative data analysis skills
ï‚· Knowledge of various statistical package tools and software is desirable
ï‚· Knowledge of social research methodologies
ï‚· Able to apply analytical and innovative tools successfully to produce creative and valuable solutions.
ï‚· Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
ï‚· Ability to work effectively and efficiently in diverse team environments.
ï‚· Excellent problem solving skills
Major roles/responsibilities
ï‚· Determines data and information needs of projects managed by the firms.
ï‚· Ensure quality data collection techniques are established for projects
ï‚· Be the focal person for quantitative and qualitative data handling, organizing and managing (i.e. storing, archiving or disposing off in a safe and secure manner),
ï‚· Organize and analyze quantitative datasets and prepare charts, graphs as necessary
ï‚· Apply sampling techniques in order to determine and define groups for survey
ï‚· Support in interpretation of field data
ï‚· Management of database and metadata
ï‚· Oversee data cleaning and data entry process
ï‚· Train and orient project team on data collection and analysis tools
ï‚· Supervise data collection and data entry staff
ï‚· Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
ï‚· It is important for the candidate to be up to date with database technologies, (i.e. web based skills in HTML if you are managing information linked an online database and office based software like Excel and Access which will be used widely in the office).
