Cordaid Nepal is an internationally operating value-based emergency relief and development organization. We have longstanding experiences in fighting poverty and social injustices both in the Netherlands as well as worldwide. Through our networks, we work from grassroot level to national and global level. We reach out to people who want to realize a good life for all and want to act upon it. CORDAID, in coordination with DanChurchAid (DCA) and Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is implementing the joint project “Joint Response of ACT Alliance Nepal to the Second-wave of COVID19: NPL 211”. The project duration is from 1 June 2021 to 30 June 2022. The project works in three provinces and 6 districts - Province 1 in Morang, Lumbini Province in Banke and Dang and Sudurpaschim Province in Kanchanpur, Doti and Baitadi. The overall objective of the project is: The most vulnerable communities and frontline health service providers in the targeted areas are assisted in surviving the second wave of the COVID19 pandemic and thriving through the pandemic’s short and longer-term impacts on their lives and livelihoods (Survive & Thrive). The specific outcomes of the project are:
Outcome 1 (Public Health): Enhanced Public Health measures and improved health and hygiene behavior for prevention and treatment of COVID19 cases through supporting public health institutions with the provision of essential medical supplies and WASH facilities.
Outcome 2 (Food Security & Livelihoods): Improved food security in emergency situations of the most vulnerable communities and enhanced capacities of the communities to meet their basic needs in the COVID19 context.
Outcome 3 (Awareness and Advocacy): Increased awareness of people on COVID19 prevention and control, vaccination, and effective response from local governments in responding to the COVID19 crisis through adequate risks communications, mobilization of community institutions and faith-leaders in managing beliefs, attitudes and social stigma, and ensuring community inclusivity, social cohesion (ACT Global Appeal), reduction of gender-based violence, and through active engagement with local Governments.
Given the scope of the project, Cordaid is inviting proposal from eligible service provider (company/firm-VAT registered/consultant) to measure and evaluate the projects’ short- and longer-term impacts on the livelihoods of COVID-19 affected population, institutional strengthening on WASH and quick support for health facilities and school and awareness and advocacy on different issues caused by COVID-19. Project will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria provided - overall achievement, coherence, relevancy, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and impact.
