Garud Securities Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2005, at a time of much political and social insecurity and upheaval. Ever increasing threats to businesses and private citizens, worsening crime levels, and the inability of the government to provide the necessary security coverage, had all contributed to the general public seeking professional protection. However, with the exception of a handful of companies, the private security industry, for the most part, had remained in the hands of semi-professionals and had functioned merely as recruitment/employment agencies for retired security personnel. Needless to say, the service provided by such agencies was far from satisfactory and often did little to address anything more than the most minor of security problems. And it was to address this lack of a dedicated and professional security organization that Garud Securities Pvt. Ltd. was established, and it has managed to become, in the short period, one of the leading players in the security industry in Nepal.
