Job Description

• Instruction and Classroom Management:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with curriculum standards.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and respect.

• Student Assessment and Support:

  • Evaluate and monitor student progress through assessments, assignments, and observations.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Identify and address individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to support students with diverse learning needs.

• Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and share resources.
  • Stay current with educational trends, technology, and best practices.

• Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school activities.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administration to support school initiatives and goals.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and committees as required.

Qualifications:

• Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certification for the appropriate grade level.
  • Endorsements in specific subject areas (if applicable).

• Experience:

  • Previous teaching experience in an elementary school setting preferred.
  • Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive teaching practices.
