The Tableau Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Tableau environment, developing Python scripts for data processing, and ensuring seamless integration between various data sources and Tableau dashboards.
Responsibilities
Tableau Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop.
Manage Tableau user accounts, permissions, roles, and security settings.
Monitor Tableau Server performance, optimize server operations, and troubleshoot issues.
Optimize Tableau tasks to improve efficiency and minimize manual effort.
Ensure proper governance and data security standards are applied to Tableau environments.
Conduct performance tuning for Tableau dashboards and server resources.
Analyze server logs and performance metrics to identify and address bottlenecks.
Stay up-to-date with Tableau features and best practices to enhance system utilization.
Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation
Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to support Tableau data sources is preferred.
Knowledge of common Python data analysis libraries (numpy, pandas)
Use SQL Alchemy or similar tools to connect and interact with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
Write and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
Design and develop RESTful APIs using FastAPI for seamless integration and data access.
Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and API test cases using tools like Pytest or unit test.
Automate data workflows by integrating Python scripts with Tableau or other reporting platforms.
Optimize Python code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, APIs, and database operations for performance and reliability.
Design and manage database schemas, ensuring data integrity and implementing migrations when necessary.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Tableau Administrator with Python knowledge.
Strong proficiency in Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop.
Expertise in Python programming and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SQL Alchemy.
Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
Knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
