Language: Nepali and English in speaking, reading and writing are required.

Familiar with various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Primavera P6

Main Responsibilities:
Assist NSET/Earthquake Engineering Research and Training (EERT) Division Director in the implementation of EERT programs.
Survey, earthquake-resistant design of structures (Schools, public buildings or any other structure) and their implementation as and when required by NSET projects and programs
Survey and design for seismic strengthening of existing structures (schools, public buildings or any other structure), and their implementation as and when required by NSET projects and programs
Field supervision and monitoring of earthquake-resistant construction and strengthening as and when required by NSET projects and programs
Undertake studies and researches on earthquake hazard, risk reduction and preparedness
Assist EERT team in developing strategies, plans, programs and materials for earthquake awareness raising and capacity building of the common people, technicians and other stakeholders
Implement or assist in implementation of public awareness programs, training programs or any other form of information / knowledge sharing or capacity building such as workshops, seminars and conferences
Conduct or assist in conducting Urban Earthquake Risk Assessment, planning for risk reduction and implementation of risk reduction measures
Design, plan and implement Community Based Disaster Risk Management Programs as required
Provide and coordinate technical services relating to Earthquake engineering to other agencies
Undertake responsibility of the implementation of Capacity Building Training Programs at national and regional level.

Organization Summary
The Nepalese people, living in a country of high seismic hazard, have faced the consequences of many earthquakes including those of Great Earthquakes. Therefore, in order to reduce the impacts of future earthquakes; to raise awareness amongst the people on the possibilities of earthquake disaster reduction; to contribute to the development of science and technology related to earthquake disaster mitigation and implementation of earthquake resistant measures in construction; and to fulfill the necessity of a national, professional, non-governmental scientific organization, Nepalese professionals belonging to various technical as well as social aspects of earthquake disaster management decided to constitute the National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal. In order to gain a legal status to this national level organization, the founders of this Society unanimously adopted its Constitution.
NSET was founded by a meeting of professionals on June 18, 1993 with the vision "Earthquake Safe Communities in Nepal by 2020". The meeting, convened by Amod Mani Dixit and Mahesh Nakarmi, was attended by around 15 professionals from the Ministry of Housing and Physical Planning and its departments, seismologists, university professors, civil engineers and journalists.
