Job Description
Plan and coordinate the implementation of research activities and analyze data in the areas of crop and natural resource management

Coordinate, conduct and facilitate trails, and maintenance and data gathering of field validation of agronomic trials

Organize collection of data such baseline survey, agronomic data
-
Manage, analyze and report data from/on agricultural research and extension activities
-
Prepare presentations and reports on collected data
-
Document recommendations to be shared
On-farm evaluation, knowledge management and training
-
Evaluate and transfer mature technologies, identify technologies and provide technical inputs to national partners, civil society organizations, beneficiaries and communities related to agricultural technologies
-
Identify training needs and organize training courses for civil society organization staff, service providers and other stakeholders on crop production technologies at the field level
-
Develop manuals and support the conduct of training based on the manuals
-
Assist implementing partners in organizing trainings or demonstrations and assist in farmer-to-farmer extension of technologies
-
Plan and organize practical demonstrations, field days and farmer training on different agricultural technologies

Assist partners in applying a community participatory farming systems approach
Coordination and partnership building
-
Establish collaboration links and partnerships with state department, agricultural universities/ research centres, private companies and service providers
-
Organize regular meetings with partners and stakeholders to discuss, streamline and implement activities
Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
-
Monitor and evaluate field level performance related to different agricultural research and extension activities
-
Prepare and submit report on issues related to performance and implementation of planned work activities
Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time.
Job Specification
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural science or related field with minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in agricultural farming systems, Agricultural research field; or

Master’s degree in Agricultural science or related field with minimum of 3 years or relevant work
Skills Required
-
Extensive work experience in the field of agriculture, with a specialization in Agronomy
-
Strong oral and written communication skills
-
Strong organization and interpersonal skills
-
Experience in training management and facilitation
-
Computer literate in MS office and statistical data analysis and report writing
-
Some experience with monitoring and documentation of fields activities
-
Team player
-
Able to work independently
