Job Description

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A good knowledge of setting up and running hydrological models.
  • Good project management skills.
  • An inquisitive and positive attitude, and be self-motivated.
  • A sensitivity to working in various environments and with people from different cultural backgrounds.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A PhD/MSc in agricultural or water engineering or a related discipline.
  • A record of publications in international journals on relevant subjects.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in agricultural or water resources research or practice.
  • Practical experience in testing and piloting water resource technologies at a farm level.
  • On-the-ground experience working on agricultural or water management solutions with farmers and water users.
  • Experience of working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Field experience from rural areas in upland and lowland Nepal
